Group 8's Town Poem

By Connor K, Maria V, and Chloe L.

From the first light of morning
To the dark glow of the evening,
Farmers work to earn a living
In a world that isn't giving.
And many go about their lives
Just as small flies.
In the town there is little
And life there is just as brittle.
Alabama life is tough
And the city is terribly rough
And after a while
You would've had enough.
-Connor K

Living in a world of fright
Not sure you'll make it through the night
Sleeping on the cold dirt floor
wishing you had something more
Food is scarce and money's out
There's so much you can cry about
In this world there's no escape
You'll rarely end up in good shape

-Maria V
